Reliable bankruptcy information online is hard to find. Congratulations, you've found it here.

Here we cover the basics of Chapter 7, 11 and 13. We look at bankruptcy alternatives and life after bankruptcy.

We provide information on who really needs bankruptcy relief, what debts can be discharged, and what the process involves.

Carolyn Secor

Over the course of her career, she has represented trustees, creditors and creditors committees and well as debtors in Chapters 7, 11, and 13.

"Finding solutions for clients is one of the things that I find most challenging", says Caroline.  "I'm looking for the approach that fits the client's needs, goals, and pocketbook."

The intersection of tax and family law questions in the bankruptcy forum holds a special appeal for Caroline. She feels strongly about maintaining the integrity of the bankruptcy system by ferreting out fraud and in keeping bankruptcy relief available to the honest debtor.

The federal government passed new bankruptcy reform legislation in October 2005. However, don't be discouraged! Most studies indicate that the new law affects less than 15% of individuals who could have filed previously. If you are feeling overwhelmed by your debts and considering filing bankruptcy, it is highly probable that you fall into the category of the 85 percent of people who are still eligible to file.
